Rauw Alejandro
In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song in just the space of six months. It was a blend of reggaeton and pop that not only drew attention to Latin Music, but as well reggaeton. In Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish and the year 2016 featured four. But during the peak of the Despacito's popularity in 2017 there were 19 mainly Spanish songs that were included in the Top 100. And in 2020 there were 41. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with an English version in the year 2017 shortly after which popular artists began working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) as well as Madonna collaborated on Medellin together with Maluma (2019). A few performers of reggaeton have criticized the shift to mainstream music in the year 2020. A newly formed group called Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the development and growth of reggaeton. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music and other styles was a common method.
