Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of living through her vibrant and broad imagination. Before she could write or read, she began to compose the songs she wrote herself. She got her first guitar when she was 8 and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. Gold Band Records is a small label that is independent. As a student in high school She made her mark locally but dreamed about a larger stage. When she graduated from the high school in 1964, she moved immediately to Nashville. The first charting record she had for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton accepted the role in 1966, she joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. The band split in 1974, when her solo singles like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. The song by Parton, I Will Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), hit the number. #1 spot following their broke up. #1 for the first time since 1974.
