Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an writer, journalist, TV host, and owner of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and relocated to England at age 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she was able to be the voice of Huffington Post. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their opinions regarding politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she decided to run as an Independent Candidate for the California Recall Election in order to succeed the former governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of the Detroit project to promote the use of fuel-efficient cars. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their listing and the following year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 list of media. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the president of the AOL media group. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. The way she lived her life was determined by her closeness to her mother, and the bond she shared with her father, despite being extremely close to him. Even as a young girl, she showed leadership traits that she's still known for. In her 16th year, she moved to Britain for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. In her college years, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president and only president from outside the country. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. Her professional career as a journalist and television host was born after graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
