Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a Greek-American author, syndicated writer of columns and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news outlet has a TV personality, author, and an philanthropist. After moving to England from Greece when she was 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that offered critical observations on the political scenario. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of famous contributors who shared their opinions on the news as well as politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 after she decided to stand for a non-partisan position during the California recall vote to succeed then Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as one of the "most influential woman" within the field of media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 following the bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by the other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos.
